“Give me chastity and continence, but not yet.”
Saint Augustine
I think this is a very English concept, but when you read the stories in this chapter, you realise the concept is universal. Full stop. Punto. (Like the car). George says I should write more. But I am not a writer like him, or a double act like my friend Miss Bliss. I am just a man trying to earn due quattrini (two quarters), or a crust of bread. Which reminds me, if you come to my bar you find the best cornetti in London. You get one free with the cappuccino, but not the skinny latte. I refuse to make that drink. Even for my friend, Miss Bliss.
